Student Design Competition – 2026-27 Harvard Elementary T-Shirt

It’s t-shirt design time at Harvard! Every year, we invite our students to create one of our official Harvard t-shirts, and this year’s theme is STEM or IB-inspired—think creativity, curiosity, innovation, and global thinking. The winning design will be featured on the 2026–27 Harvard Elementary t-shirts, highlighted in the Harvard PTA newsletter and on social media, and the student designer will receive a FREE t-shirt with their winning design on it!

How It Works

  • Submit the design to homeroom teacher by Thursday April 9

  • A committee will select five designs for students, teachers, and admin to vote on

  • The winner of this contest will have their design featured on 2026-7 Harvard Elementary t-shirts and be recognized in the Harvard PTA newsletter, on social media, and will receive a free t-shirt with their design on it!

  • Teachers, you are welcome to make this a classroom activity!

  • Kindergarteners are encouraged to work on their design with their 5th grade Buddy!

Design Guidelines

  • Entry forms went home in the communication folder. Didn’t get one? Download it here

  • We will also accept designs on a single 8 ½ x 11 piece of paper. Please include students first and last name, grade, and homeroom teacher on back of paper

  • Must include the word “Harvard”

  • Theme: STEM or IB-inspired design

  • Design must be for the front of the shirt only

  • Please avoid the following topics: Politics, flags, or any content that may be negative or offensive

  • Student drawings only! Parents, please do not assist!

    • Parents are welcome to submit designs as well! Although they won't be eligible for the competition, the committee will consider them as a t-shirt option.

Eligibility/Entry

  • Submissions must include students first and last name, grade, and homeroom teacher on back of paper

  • Only one design submission per student

  • All designs must be original art

  • All electronic design must be printed and provided to homeroom teacher

  • By submitting an entry, the designer grants Harvard Elementary PTA to use the design, to post it on their online sites, and to modify the design as necessary

Designs will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Originality

  • Visibility – Is it eye catching and visible from a distance

  • Feasibility – Must be easy to reproduce

Important dates

  • Submit the design to homeroom teacher by Thursday April 9

  • Vote for best shirt Monday April 20 to Thursday April 24

  • Winner announced by Thursday April 30
